FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I would like you to shoot my wedding, how do I start the process?

Reach me via my contact form along with your wedding date and venue, if secured. I can respond by email or phone. If possible, I would like to meet you both in person so you can get to know your future photographer and can ask me everything you need. Once you’ve decided to choose me as your photographer, I will send a contract for you to sign and and return with a booking fee.

How far should we book in advance for a wedding?

Typically, 6-12 months in advance as soon as you have a date and venue. If you’re not the plan in the advance type client, don’t stress. Check with me for availability.

Do you travel?

I love to travel and am always happy to travel for a wedding - where ever it might be

Do you shoot Indian weddings?

I most certainly do - I live in Durban after all 🙂 I do love a good Indian wedding, the colours and festivities are very fun to photograph, and I do love a good curry ☺

Do you offer videography too?

Unfortunately, not, however I can recommend some that I have work well with.

What time does the sunset? Are we going to have enough sunlight for photo’s

I always check sunset times for that particular date and try work around that time (you can use this nifty website Timeanddate.com. If you are getting married in the afternoon, the hour before sunset is known as the “Golden hour” and can result in really pretty photo's. Its always best to try and structure your time table around this hour. In Winter the sun typically sets just after 5pm, in Summer its typically around 6:30pm.

How much time do you need for photo's on the day ?

For the best results, I’ll need the following:
• Decor shots: 30 min
• Bride before the ceremony: 1 -2 hours
• Groom - 40-60 minutes
• Family & Group shots: 20 min – 30 min (please ensure that you send me a list of the group photographs that you would like)
• Couple photos: 1 hour +
• Reception: all depends on you and what you have planned for the evening ☺

Do you only shoot weddings?

No, I shoot babies, maternity, parties, engagement special milestones too.

What equipment do you use ?

I am a Canon shooter and use the following gear :
Canon 5DMIII Body with battery grip
Canon 7D
Canon 680EX-RT Flashes x 2
Canon 16-35mm 2.8
Canon 50mm 1.4
Canon 70-200 2.8
Canon 24-70 2.8
Triggers, Umbrella’s and loads of memory cards
I edit all my work on my iMac.
